Office Support (Ministry Center) Opportunities are available Monday Friday, particularly in the late morning and early afternoon. Volunteers may enter data into our database, stuff envelopes, fold thank-you letters, or make phone calls. Ideally, it is best to commit to 2+ hours on a weekly basis. Drivers (River of Life, City Light, Lighthouse, Ministry Center) Drive people to various appointments in our vehicles as needed. Some appointments occur on a regular basis. You must have a clean driving record to be considered. Mentors, Tutors and Job Coaches (River of Life, Lighthouse) We are looking for Christian men who can come alongside the men in our discipleship recovery program in these areas. This is a great opportunity to help provide personal, professional and spiritual support. Contact Desk Workers (City Light) Opportunities are available Monday Friday at various times (including evenings). Ideally, it is best to have volunteers work 2+ hours on a regular basis. Volunteers can also be trained to serve on an as-needed basis.
Saturday Activity Volunteers (City Light) There is interest in allowing qualified volunteers to invest about two hours off site with a small group of women who are in our discipleship recovery program. These experiences can be educational, community service, recreational or entertainment oriented. We need a completed online application, a background check and other important information. Projects for Families/Groups (All Facilities) Projects for families or groups generally depend on our most urgent needs, but proposals are always welcome for extraordinary ideas! Group tasks may include the following: minor buildings and grounds maintenance, deep cleaning projects, organization of food, clothing and other storage areas, wash and wax vans, bicycle maintenance, seasonal decorating, materials handling in the warehouse, wash food barrels, and event support. Adopt a Transitional Apartment (Rive of Life, City Light, Lighthouse) Adopt one of the Next Step Transitional Apartments and turn it into a home for one of our program graduates. A little elbow grease, new curtains, kitchen supplies, etc. can make all the difference for someone moving from the shelter into their own home. If you do not hear from us within 10 business days or if you have any questions, please call our volunteer coordinator, Glenn Compton, directly at (208) 639-3297, or email him at GlennC@boiserm.org. Please be sure to include your name, phone number, and the best time to call you.
