Boise Rescue Mission Ministries

Since 1958 the Boise Rescue Mission has been serving the community by meeting the spiritual, physical and psychological needs of the homeless and near-homeless who live in our community and those who pass through on a daily basis.

Boise Rescue Mission provides food, clothing and shelter for homeless and needy men, women and children 365 days a year.

Over the years, we have also implemented educational and counseling programs to provide opportunities for healing, growth, and employment for the homeless population.

Volunteers are an essential part of every program at Boise Rescue Mission Ministries.  We have opportunities for individuals and groups alike at all of our facilities. We are in need of volunteers in various areas throughout the year.  There is a place for everyone to give of their time to those in need. Click here to visit the volunteer page.

Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is a registered 501 c 3 nonprofit organization and all donations are tax-deductible by the IRS.  View our privacy policy.

A Quick Look at the Services Offered at BRM:

New Life Recovery/Discipleship Program

A drug and alcohol addiction recovery/discipleship program is available for men and women who enroll through Boise Rescue Mission. At both the men's and women's facilities, the New Life Program helped participants to stay sober and discover a new life in Jesus Christ.

Shelter Given

In addition to meals, we provide over 6,500 safe beds each month to homeless men, women and children. The number of guests continues to increase.

Along with food service staff and volunteers, the men and women of the New Life Program prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Meals Served

As of September 2007, we have been serving an average of 730 meals and providing an average of 242 overnight stays for the Treasure Valley's homeless each day.

Computer Skills Education

Boise Rescue Mission has taken the lead in giving Idaho's homeless the opportunity to gain computer skills and experience, using our newly developed computer lab. The NOVA program, by Innovative Learning Systems, was developed specifically for Missions to include education towards a GED, literacy and employment/career training. This experience helps to gain not only valuable skills for employment, but also the excitement and pride of discovery.

Employment Re-entry Program

This fifteen-month program provides work search assistance, transitional housing, education and other job-related needs to qualified men and women who have graduated from the New Life Drug and Alcohol Addiction Recovery Program and are willing and able to find permanent employment.  Over forty local businesses have partnered with the Boise Rescue Mission to provide good, career-type jobs to these program graduates.

Worship Services

Boise's churches and spiritual leaders are an invaluable part of the Boise Rescue Mission's success. Each week, many leaders from churches around Boise join us at the City Light, River of Life and Lighthouse Rescue Mission Chapels to lead our nightly voluntary worship service. Those who stay at the Boise Rescue Mission's facilities can also find comfort and strength in devotional services each morning if they wish.
